About us

Odette Ngeh. CEO of safe Hands association. A dedicated Nurse and specialized midwife by profession with over six years of clinical experience and over five years of community involvement experience ( humanitarian assistance) . All what I do for humanity comes from within and from past experiences. I remember I was told, when my mother was pregnant with me as her 10th pregnancy, she was booked for an operation, she had no resources to pay for it, she and I almost died because of intervention due to financial constraints. Fortunately us, her Son in-law, stepped and assisted financially and we both survived. Many years after that incident, when I was about getting married “ she was no more, her son-in-law insisted my pride price be paid to him, because he assisted my Mom twenty years ago while i was still in the womb. Coming from the North west region, we hold our traditional to high esteem for that region it bought a lot of problems between my family members and even in-laws began to wonder.

Odette Ngeh
That aspect of financial constraints for sick, pregnant and others was deep into my soul until I started volunteering with other organizations then I realized there was even more to life difficulties than just health issues.
I realized that if my mother had a source of income, she wouldn’t have asked for financial assistance from her son-in-law and he wouldn’t have laid claims over money he wasn’t suppose to collect.
For I reason empowering the less privileged with skills, knowledge and income has become my priority.
My motivation for always doing back to school scheme and support those that can’t be in school is because I got into early marriage because I wasn’t going to school and thought getting married was the best option. But it was a nightmare.
Let’s encourage and assist children especially the girls and women through school because they are very vulnerable when left with nothing.
